Tips to Save Money When Saying I Do

2020 was an eventful year. We all know that, but it has really kept the wedding industry on their toes. A lot of people have postponed their weddings or have done micro weddings to keep everyone safe. Every vendor has had to make modifications to how they provide their services to keep up with the uncontrollably fast changes that have occurred this year. For all my brides I know this has been the most stressful times for you, but we have some great tips and tricks to help you save money on your special day!

Using greenery for wedding decorations

Decor is a large part of your special day. Renting decor can be expensive if your venue doesn’t provide it! Some tips to save money is if the tables you have available are nice, skip the linen and overlay; no one will miss them. With flowers try to use more greens in arrangements; it is inexpensive and will save you some cash. You can also do minimalist bridesmaids bouquets; they are smaller but still beautiful! With the groomsman ditch the boutineer; have them wear pocket squares instead! There are many tricks to save on flowers and decor; these are just a few of my favorites.

Cake pop wedding favors

An expense that kinda wastes your money are Wedding favors, they seem fun and thoughtful, which they can be. I just don’t recommend spending all your time and money on them. A lot of times the favors that you provide get left behind. They are not necessary but if you do want to provide something I suggest something edible or something they will be able to use, for example hand sanitizer.

Wedding photographer

Photography is probably the most important part of your wedding, they are capturing some of your most cherished moments. Try looking for an upcoming photographer, their prices will be lower as they are still building their portfolio and learning. While choosing a photographer also look at their packaging, try to choose a package without the hard copy prints or an album. You can also save a couple hundreds by getting a second shooter for the “getting ready” time frame, they will be able to do a lot of detailed shots of the venue and ceremony site and means they will be done much earlier in the day.

There are many more ways to save money on your wedding to better fit your budget. Do you have any great tips that helped you save money? If so let me know! These are just some of the tips I try to suggest to all my brides on a tighter budget.
